Boys in the class were sports conscious as shown by the twenty-six who went out for basketball, twenty who played football, and the twenty who reported for track. Twenty- eight boys sang with the boys glee club. Eighth graders were also interested in instrumental music which is proven by the fact that twenty-two of the group played in the Cadet Band and twenty-one played in the high school concert and marching bands.
