Among our members there are the sparkling boisterous, eager hoydens-the loved Jos of Louisa M. Alcott's immortal book. And there are the Amy Marches--those who love and seek the beauty of the world - graceful, dainty, and sophisticated. The lady-like, dignified girls symbolized by the lovely Meg. Then, too, there is the one who was too ethereal, too lovely and frail for the buffets of this world. Our Beth has gone, but she left with us the memory of a life so beautiful and true that its sweetness will linger with us throughout the years. There are also friendships between our boys and girls that resemble the loyal and sincere comradeship between Jo and Laurie. Of course there are the John Brooks and Professors who frequently play important roles, related more or less closely to the Girl Reserves. We also find a helpful guiding spirit in our advisor just as the four little women had in their wonderful Marmee. .I ' .4 t 'f . Ml 'xxx ' E355 , ,ggi . ei wa., , . . , -SS rl g. Yes! We must not forget initiation and a Valentine party with your best girl friend as guest we surely feel we have profited much by our membe1'ship. Much of the success is due to our fine leader Mr. Galt. Mr. Galt accompanied by Paul Wegmueller, Frederick Anderzhon, and Donald Baker attended the Older Boys' Conference at Cedar Rapids and brought back new ideas and ideals to the club at home and also brought pictures which they presented to the High School. The new bulletin boards which decorate the halls also were presented to the High School by the Boys' Club this year. Another outstanding event of the year was the First Round Up held the 14th of March, to celebrate the completion of the first decade of Boys' Club history. Good fellowship in music and story was the order of the evening, as many charter members recounted happenings connected with the launching of the organization in the year 1923-24. Fun? Yes. Proht? Yes. Interest? Yes, if you are a member of the Boys' Club. ESESESESESESESESEEESESESESESESESEEEEESSSSSESES SS X 253 E E H F471 ISSJ E E 3 E E 35 ITU liz! We played at the State Fair two days, at the 4th of July celebration at Red Oak, at the Community Picnic at Farragut, at the Sidney Rodeo, the Shrine Circus in Omaha, and have played in several parades in Shenan- doah and neighboring towns. We have been entertained by many of our friends and friends of Mr. Anshutz. In the future we plan to attend the Nebraska State Fair, the Iowa State Fair, and the World's Fair in Chicago. Mr. Anshutz has had a drum corps for several years and in the last four years he has taught all the boys in the fife and drum corps how to play their instruments. We wish to express, as members of the organization, our appreciation to Mr. Anshutz for his interest and fine helpful spirit. I think, as one of the members, that the organization has been a great help to the community.
