CFFICER COMMANDER ALAN B. DUNN 1 Commander Alan 8. Dunn was born in Bell Gardens, California and raised in West Texas. l-le graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education in January 1968 and received his commission from Officer Candidate School, Newport Rhode Island in September 1968. Commander Dunn assumed his duties as Executive Officer of the destroyer tender U3 SHENANDOAH CAD Adj on 1 February 1985. Previous assignments at sea have included tours as Engineering Administrative Assistant aboard USS KEARSARGE CCVS 333 from October 1968 to December 1969 and as the Main Propulsion Assistant on USS PREBLE QDLO 153 from January 1970 to December 1971. Commander Dunn was the Operations Officer on LISS ROGERS C DD 8765 from January 1976 to December 1977, and the Chief Engineer on USS ALAMO C LSD 335 from January 1980 to October 1982. Ashore, he served at the Naval Recruiting District, Little Rock, Arkansas as the Officer Programs Recruiter from January 1972 to May 1975, followed by Surface Warfare! Department Head School. From January 1977 until December 1979 he served as the Naval Reserve Training Coordinator on Staff. Commander Surface Force, US. Pacific Fleet, and as Commanding Officer of the Naval Reserve Center, Shreveport, Louisiana from October 1982 until December 1985. Commander Dunn is authorized to wear the following medals and awards: National Defense Medal: Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Sea Service Ribbon, Naval Expeditionary Medal: Wetnam Service Medal: Republic of Wetnam C ' M ' ampalgn edal, Armed Forces Reserved Medal: Battle HE Ribbon: Navy! Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. He is married to former Jane Kathryn Crook of Cleburne, Texas and they have two daughters Allison and Lindsey. EXECUTIVE
