COIVIIVIANDING 5 JOHN S. LACEY, JR. OFFICER CAPTAIN .f..--- Captain John S, Lacey. Jr , was born in Portland, Maine, and received his commission in 1961 upon graduation from the Maine Maritime Academy Previous assignments at sea include tours as First Lieutenant aboard the Icebreaker USS EDISTO CAGB 25. Weapons Officer aboard the submarine USS REDFIN CSS 2725, Engineer Officer aboard the submarine USS CARP QSS 33 D. Operations Officer and Navigation aboard the submarine USS PICKEREL QSS 52415, Executive Officer aboard the submarine USS TRUMPElFlSl-l CSS 41253, Operations Officer aboard the guided missile cruiser USS ALBANY LCG 103, and Command Officer of the destroyer USS FORREST SHERMAN QDD O31 9, Ashore. Captain Lacey attended the US Naval Submarine School, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, the Air Command and Staff College of the Air University, USAF and the college of Naval Warfare of the Naval War College l-le has also served as Programs Coordinator on the staff of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Surface Warfare, and Division Director ofthe Operations and Maintenance Program and Budget Office at the Naval Seal Systems Command. Captain Lacey is authorized to wear the following medals and awards: Meritorious and gold star in lieu of second award, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Antarctic Expeditionary Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He is married to the former Rebecca Elizabeth Tuttle of Pittsfield, Massachuseffs, and they have two children, Karen and John. 5
