Homecoming ood Excitement, Spirit Put a lot of school spirit, enthusiasm, creativeness, determina- tion and Shelton High School Students together, and what will you get? One of the Hnest homecomings ever put forth, And surely this is what the 1967 homecoming was. A Fitting start to the occasion was an assembly where the ac- tivities were outlined and the mood set for the events to come. The Highlight was the picking of the homecoming court: Sue Valley, Sylvia Sund, and Candy Nutt. With people looking in manholes, behind rocks and almost every other imaginable place, the hunt for the queen's crown was on. 'fClash Day brought bright colors mixed with plaids, stripes, Howers and polka dots into the halls of Shelton High School. Thursday night the blare of horns, sound of music, laughter and shouting was heard as the traditional bonfire was set off. Friday was the day all looked forward to. At the pep assembly the students waited with mounting anticipation for the crown- ing of the homecoming queen. As drums rolled, each expectant girl opened a box, one containing a red rose, the symbol of the queen's reign, It was found by Sylvia Sund who became the 1967 homecoming queen. That night the mighty Climbers played West Bremerton, and although we lost, our victorious spirit was evident. And the end to a perfect homecoming week was London Mist, the after-game dance with the Liverpool Five.
