Mr ensen Third ww B Besch C Hanson B Hansen Smith Nelson Schmidt Anderson Madscn Dennis Graham successful season for the Highclimbers proving that the athletic strength of a school does not necessarily depend upon its size M lensen presented a squad exceptionally strong in the field events and about aver age on the cinders In several Instances a clean sweep of field events was the margin of victory for the Highclimbers Shelton opened the season by competung in a five team meet at Hoquiam Hoquiam a well balanced outfit won the meet scoring 73 points Shelton dnd well however chalk :rg up 33 points to place second Raymond was third with 23 points and Montesano ann Elma trailed badly with 9 points apiece The Highclimbers soon hit their stride nevertheless and managed to down Bremerton 74 48 on the home field and Chehalns 79 43 at Chehalis In both victories the Climbers broke even with the opponent in the sprints and went ahead to win by clean sweeps in the field events Olympia High School had to present a strong outfit this season to defeat the Highclimbers 69 52 in a very close meet Coach jim lensen who started as track coach last season is building up a strong aggre gation of track men which starting as Sophomores a year ago should be at their best rext sprung As the boys have met all expectations and are developing fast the Highclimbers should be right on top in future years 30- X MN! ,i lfjfv ,lx I D J NDER the expert supervision of Coach lim lensen, thirty able track men produced a highly rl , . , -
