This year's version of the Junior Varsity called themselves the G1oberompers and turned in a very fine record for the season as they won 8 and lost 3. After winning only one game the previous season, all 14 boys who suited up helped the team's desire. Byron Waller starts a successful hook shot as the B team trims Wood River. Dick Winey-17 watches as he moves into position. COA CH DON SYMMES After leaving the B team coaching for one year, he returned to watch the B boys drop only 3 games. ee UNDEFEATED TEAM WITH DESIRE--Standing--Eighth Graders--Roger Oliver, Larry Weise, Bob Fines, George Schepers, Darwin Blue, Dean Parks, Bill Smith, Bob White, Loren Fairbanks, Loren Holi, Rex Wiseman, Don Mayfield, Pete Smith, and Fred Spellman. In Foreground are Freshmen--Junior Castenda, Allan Holl, Paul Wiseman, Elton Bowman, Larry Bombeck, Gerald Alexander, Lynn Bombeck, and Ron Diercks. JUNIOR HIGH SPORTS 1955-1956 This year's Junior High Sports have been the tops in all sports. The football team went undefeated in three games and the boys were very small compared with their competition. In basketball the Freshman Division won 7 games and lost only 3 games, and the Eighth Grade Divis- ion won 10 games and lost only 1, that being the initial game of the season. The Eighth Grade Division also won the Buffalo County Basketball Championship. In track and field the desire continued as the athletes broke a number of records and finished high in the meets they entered. A bright future can be in store for these fine men if they continue to take care of their health and give their every assignment their full, undivided attention in the classroom as well as on the field of sports and in any area of clean living. Most of the school personnel who have worked with the eighth grade group enjoyed the fine attitude and cooperation. It was a pleasure and a privilege for us to have had the opportunity to see that there are young men who will devote their time and energy to worthwhile things of their own choosing, Keep your standards high and realize that you must work for anything that is worthwhile.
