UUCGS In Paul Murphy's enthusiastic classmates watch as he is dehaired. Lynn Thompson and Marty Berg pose as student teachers in their biology class. A barber contemplatively eyes Paulis hair before the cutting ceremony. This year Spring Week put less of an emphasis on wearing spring clothes and concentrated more on student-teacher activities. The week's theme was Crazy Daisy Days. The week began with Petunia Print Dayw on which students were encouraged to wear print dresses and shirts. The crowning point of Tuesday, Bachelor Button Day, was a slave auction in which buttons and money purchased Mr. Flynn, Mr. Diddock, Mr. Brown- ing, and Paul Murphy. On Wednesday, Tulip Twirp Day, stu- dents became teachers. The climax of the week was Friday, Pantsy Day. During an ex- tended lunch period, a live band entertained, and faculty-student and interclass tug-of-wars were held. Senior girls let off steam on one of spring's first days. 73

RIOC OA during a study center for a little By definition the senior assembly is a time when students can vent their frustrations with humorous take- offs on events from their high school career. In other words, it is a psy- choanalyst's dream come true. This year the main sources of frus- tration apparently were the eight- period day, independent study badges, student council, poor spirit -well, school in general. And so sixty singing, acting, and dancing seniors presented a forty-minute satire featuring a school-board tour through Sheldon. Lyrics for the musical numbers were set to Broadway showtunesg thus Everything Beautiful Happens at Night became Nothing Cool Ever Happens at School and Seventy- six Trombones Led the Big Parade became Seventy-six Big Cheers for the Study Badge? High spots of the tour were skits performed in various student Hhangoutsi'-the library, cafeteria, science lab, P.E. department, and study center. Gail Harris attempts to escape flaming library Mr. Peterson CSteve Eriksenj, interviewed by Bill Williams, prepares to give a crowder his passive look. Vic Nobert is brought before the student court for indiscriminate use of the lavatory during his study center time.
