6n6l2Al Charles Milhaupt and Ellen Brownhill seriously discuss the inspector general. The major fall production, The Inspector General, was a Russian comedy about a young ne'er do- well who was mistaken for a government of- ficial. He used his assumed identity to beguile the mayor's wife and daughter and to dupe the en- tire town. The play was presented on November ll and 12, after many long Weeks of rehearsal, Patricia Gib- son, a rigorous director, was assisted by Sharm Newton. The cast consisted of 40 students. These included Ellen Brownhill, Kim Johnsen, Bill Maris, and Wane Fuday, veterans of Sheldon's stage. New talent in leading roles included Charles Milhaupt, Karm Hagedorn, and Ioyce Hansen. Wane Fuday flatters his way out of many difficulties.

UI116 UWEAUQG DOIDOURRI EX , V fe, f 1 I 5 Greg Farman, Thisbe, and Iudy Long, Pyramus, are forced to pursue their romance through the chink in the disinterested Wall,,' played by Chris Hixson. Ellen Brownhill, Kay Erskine, and Chris Hixson, three Witches in 4 Hats, await the arrival of Mrs. Meanie. Potpourri consisted of a cutting from a Shakespearean comedy, a spoof on turn- of-the-century melodrama, a panto- mime play, and a quasi-happening. The production was under the direc- tion of Ed Chilla, stagecraft teacher at Sheldon and graduate student in drama at the University of Oregon. This show was experimental in that the audience sat on the stage, the performers them- selves playing on a raised platform in the center. It Was our first play to run for five performances, two of which were matinees. Kay Erskine, Lady Magnesia Fitztollemache and her maid, Kris Balle, listen for the clock to strike sixteen.
