This year, the German Club initiation included a trip across the plastic-wading-pool-Rhine River, a climb through the cafeteria-table Alps, and a taste of very sour vinegar, disguised as Rhein wine. On other occasions, members showed their slides of Europe. Highlights of the year were the caroling party at the Christmas Village and the annual Bavarian Luau-a spring picnic. At the French-Spanish Alliance Club initiation, it was dark, according to one of the initiates, as old members lead them through a maze. Later their knowledge of French and Spanish cultures was tested in team competition. Among their contribu- tions to the school was a sharing of this knowledge through a display of French and Spanish artifacts in the main hall.
