Miss Oregon, Sue Pack, receives applause from audience at all-girl assembly. Girls, League officers conduct a business meeting. Cl-rj Chris Merkel, Molly Westling, Donna Collins and Shan- non Desler. An active year for the Girls' League began with the Big and Little Sister picnic on August 28. ln November, Sue Pack, Miss Oregon, entertained at the Girls' League sponsored all-girl assembly with her routine from The Sound of Music. By sponsoring a successful rally dance, the Girls' League raised enough money to put on the annual Christmas Dance. The Dad-Daughter Banquet and the Mother- Daughter Tea, which included both parents in the year's activities, concluded the year.

The Forensics Team had a busy year beginning with the first annual Sheldon Invitational Speech Tournament on October 29-30. Diana Dcverell and Judy Bisno took first place in Senior Division Debate, with Lorraine Eloranta, Marlene Baumann, Bob Norton, Alexis Titus, Susan Weatherly and Steve Stanley also placing. Other tourna- ments the team participated in were Pacific University, Bob Richardson checks his notes. -.M Linfield, and the National Forensics League Tournament. Hi- lf The purpose of the Hi-Y Club was to promote high standards of Chris- tian character throughout the home, the school, and the community. The highlight of the year was the canned food drive. This annual event provided 9,500 lbs., of canned foods for needy families in the Eu- gene-Springfield area. Under the direction of President Dick Wingard and advisor Mr. Hull, members arranged for local business- men to speak at several club meet- ings. At Christmas time, the Hi-Y spon- sored a Christmas tree sale at the YMCA. ,vonsors 90041 Drilfc Sherrie Hoppas and Eddie Johnson inspect the Senior's contribution to the canned food drive.
