There were several fields to choose from including Metals, Woodworking, Electricity, and Drawing. Students' experiences with tools, machines, and materials provided a change from the everyday abstract routine of academic classes.

The addition of a potteris wheel to the Crafts Department provided a new experience for students interested in ceramics. Hams mnomics Homemaking courses helped students to under- stand the responsibilities of successful family life, and developed judgement in making decisions in personal and family living. It also taught students Marolyn Barker to recognize the opportunities for personal develop- ment through the activities of home, school, and community, and to develop the ability to share in the activities of homemaking. rs f t . , .
