The Prom is indeed one of the highlights of the year for juniors and seniors. juniors raise money by candy sales in the student center at lunch time while they look forward to being excused from classes to decorate the gym. The theme is top secret so as to keep seniors in the dark until the big night. At last yearis Prom couples danced in an atmos- phere of the old South and, While the 'Natchez Queeni' made its Way up stream, many made 1963 Prom Queen Karen McNew and junior Class President Ricl1 Adams. Wishes at the Wishing Well. Probably the most un- usual bit of scenery Was the sparkling pond With a live baby alligator in it. After purchasing a ticket for a ride on the Car- rouself' SHS seniors and juniors entered the prom World of 1964. Four animals turned 'round on the carrousel centerpiece. The West wall of the gym appeared to be a line of shops and the stage a bandstand. The court was seated on a smaller Carrousel.
