XVith Cay Pareew as the theme, the '58 Prom was one of the rnost heautiful Proms ever held. The decoration connnittees, headed hy Danny lvie, transformed the gym into the very heart of Paris lor one enchanting evening. The crowning of the Proxn Queen took place on the stage which also served as a hase for a huge lCil'fel 'l ower. The inost outstanding of three cafes, the Cate de Hue, was the hackground for the Prom Court which sat under an overhanging hlue and white striped awning. Couples were attracted to the center of the Iloor hy a miniature fountain which sprayed colored water. Frosted white flower carts loaded with carnations and ferns stood at the foot of the foun- tain. NVhite picket fences entwined with vines and flowers and ending with lamp posts topped with colrzrlul shades were placed along the sides of the floor. Trees colorfully depicted a feeling of springtime in Paris with their pastel hows laden with pink and yellow petals and hlossolns. Hefreslnnents were served at the south end hy six inernhers of the Sophomore Class gaily dressed in srnocks and herets. Characteristic of Paris streets was an artist who sketched pictures of the couples as they passed the cafe. With stars twinkling over-head and a heautiful partner, it certainly was a night to rc- Ill1'llllH'l'.
