Mr. Clay, guidance counselor, advises Ann Fogle about next scniests-r's classes. Beginning and advanced speech is one of the most popular and useful courses at SHS. Starting with making simple conversation, the classes move to panel discussions, pantomimes, debates, and parliamentary proceedure in beginning speech. The advanced course includes choral reading, mono- logues, interpretations, and the production of a one-act play, Mr. Carmony instructs both sections. With Mr. Barnett as teacher, the commercial geography classes study the face of America. The one-semester course includes learning about the products of soils, construction of the USA is high- lighted in this course. Maps and slides are used to help acquaint the pupils with our countryis geo- graphy. Our guidance department was established four vears ago to heln pupils plan not only for their high school days but also for their later life. Under the direction of Malcolm Clay, former English teacher, the guidance department helps us to select the best possible curriculum for our indi- vidual needs and advises us on our plans after graduation. will Throu h 0unselandCu1'dance...
