FIRST ROW: Carter, Weaver, Swindler, Jesse, Swindler, Bohon, Chandler, Settle. SECOND ROW: Cow- herd, Baker, Frazier, West, Scearce, Mathis, Clements, Kays. BA EBALI. Compiling an excellent record of 17 victories against 2 defeats, the 1955 baseball team, under the direction of Coach Allie Kays, captured the CKC crown. Their conference record was 9 wins 0 losses. The first game of the season was a 33-1 romp over Bagdad. Waddy, Versailles, Anderson, Harrods- burg, and Frankfort were each defeated twice. Bagdad and Danville were each beaten once. One of the highlights of the season was a no-hit, no- run game against Frankfort hurled by Bobby Carter. After their thirteenth win, the Shelbyville team was handed its only setback in regular season play by Eastern High School. They copped the district title by beating Waddy and Bagdad. In regional competition they overcame Harrodsburg and Nicholas County before losing in the finals to Madison Model. The '56 team should be very strong since only one man, outfielder Bill Scearce, was lost through graduation.
