CL B ACTIVITIE FHA President Mary Campbell Treasurer Dixie Nell Bryant First Vice President Joyce Dotson Secretary Frances Frye Second Vice President Martha Jones Reporter Sydne Hays Parliamentarian Jane Kay Smith Song Leader Wanda Kemper Recreation Leader Helen Ann Cook Sponsor Mrs James Casey The Future Homemakers of America is an organization dedicated to helplng Home Economicstudents to become happier and more useful individuals JUNIOR Y TEENS President Sandra Tumer Secretary Judy Wakefield Vice President Alma Dinkler Treasurer Phylls Shannon Sponsors Miss Josephine Lapsley Mrs B P Eddie The Junior Y Teens is composed of forty five members from the seventh and eighth grades They are a branch of the Young Women s Christian Association and have the same purpose K CLUB Vice President Frances Frye Treasurer Toni Andnot The K Club an honorary society of fifteen senior high girls ts sponsored by the King s Daughters Jenny Benedict Circle New members are selected by the vote of the active members and are required to maintain at least a C +standu1g The organization s chief purpose is to be of service to the school and its students CHEERLEADERS The cheerleaders are elected by secret ballot after having tried out on a specifted date One is elected from each of the grades 9 through 12 and then one is elected at large We think this year s cheerleaders have done a tremendous job in promotlng true sportsmanship There are two graduating cheerleaders Mary Lou Weaver and Emily Crawford The other three are Ann Barlow CCapta1nj Ginny Wnght and Sue Bradbury LATIN CLUB President Katie Newton Secretary Marlene Ellis Vice President Bobby Edwards Treasurer Kay Crawford Sponsor Mrs Doris Howerton The Latin Club is composed of students interested in the Lat1n language and Roman culture lt meets every frfth Monday for films or lectures on ancient Roman history and observes Latin week in April BAND The band, dtrected by Mr Robert Stngleton contributed very much to the home football games by per forming during half time They also marched in the Tobacco Festtval Parade and appeared on WHAS radio the same day SENIOR Y TEENS President Wakre Blakemore Secretary and Reporter Sue Johnson Vice President Katie Newton Treasurer , Georgia Hedges Sponsor .
