.CLASS OFl9-40 red-head, DOROTHY RUNKEL, brought glamour to us from Lakewood this year. DVl.7lGl-lT SPECHT came from there too, but left us to go back. MARLAN Dll-lEL is of the stuff all swell people are made of. That BROWN boy, VICTOR, has led a quiet life hereabouts, but we'll miss him. HNNY ROMINGER flits here and there, there being Sparks. GEORGIA SUMMERS runs NOEL and helps him run the senior stand. So busy with heart affairs, LA VANCE seldom gets around our way. And that YOUNG boy, HUCK, is the last in the long line of Young males. LOY REED is still an im- portant segment of the class backbone. They say IENNIE SUMMERLOTT is the drawing card that keeps a certain alumnus hanging 'round. CGuess who.D EVERETT SCHWENKER has been so busy with an under Class-woman that we hardly see him. What with being on all programs, in all plays, head fire- man at the council fire, PAUL ISEN- BERG, would-be big shot, made it. EAE YAKEY was almost an assistant to Mr. Akenhead-her annual job. DOC SPESARD still drops nickles in the model A, and she runs. ln spare time, BETTY RAETZ helps at the Sta-rite. DEAN ROB- INSON found a way to make himself a grown-up-football. You should see his manly form in a padded football suit. Yes, these are our illustrious officers. This part of the letter you may like best, Betty, because here I'm going to give you the latest gossip and what-not of the bunch closest to your heart-the senior class. BUTCH is our class presi- dent this year, and he can really handle the rabble at class meetings. MICKEY stands by as vice-president ready to take over at a moment's notice. Clf the notice came, I doubt if she could do it.D The secretary and treasurer are all wrapped up in one again this year, so ATKIE is busy trying to get them un- wrapped. ROSE HOLLAND was al- ways good at arithmetic. Honest, she's even brighter. THERON has been hav- ing a swell time this year as chief pho- tographer for the annual. In spare min- utes he takes pictures of MONTE. IEAN CUTLER has to budget her time be- tween high school and Sparks. She's interested in business, or is she? RICH- ARD BLAND is taller, darker, and hand- somer, but just as silent as ever. The competent, attractive secretary in ye old principal's office is none other than MARY GAYLOR. Dashing around hither and yon, in daylight and dark this year, IACK MERRELL has been our SO LONC. most rabid candid-camera fan. And MARY IANE up and left us to get mar- ried, threw us over for a mere Taylor. BILL MOYER, our curly headed farmer, has made a name as a footballer and a crooner. What a combination! We al- most lost LOIS ALLEN when her people moved, but we're glad she stayed to finish with us. RALPH PRICE spends much of his time burning up the road between here and Rana. You'd be sur- prised how much that boy has grown up. We missed VERA DAVIS a while back and found she was at home enter- taining mumps. Cowden sent us IEANNE MlLl.ER, and shes been toot- ing her horn ever since. CFooled you, didn't I? Shes in the band.j EDDTE MARS was indispensable in athletics- - played football, worked on the athletic committee, was basketball manager. One of our busiest gals was ELSIE CAIN. We are indebted to her for sev- eral clever programs, for she was one of the hardest-working members of that gang. Heres one boy who isn't satis- fied to do only what he has to do. DWANE SHAFFER made himself so useful to us on the annual staff that we just had to adopt him. MARHAYN DUCKETT is still a whiz-bang with her figgers . Shes also Very active in sports. And remember VVAYNE Mll.LER, the woman-hater? Well, now hes chief head woman-hunter. PHYL AlCl-HZLE is one of our very best pushers when theres some work SO LUNG. to be done. She gets her practice pushing Wib around. Yes, that affair is still on, at least part of the time. Gur most outstanding lady-killer is DCU- GLE Sl-IQAFF-in his own opinion, at least. LOUlSE WlLLlAMS has pro- duced a fine alto voice for chorus and plenty of energy for G. A. A. WNCENT RAETZ is one of our chief arguers. just the mention of politics sets him off like a firecracker. Queen IRMA Pl-IELPS just about had her warm smile frozen at the crowning between halves of the homecoming game. ATKIE says that'll never happen because she uses anti- freeze tooth paste.
