CRElGl-TTON came down from North- western to take over. You'll find him pictured on page forty-one. Times haven't changed much. MISS SHUCICS still braving blank faces in language classes. And BATTERSHELL, our class sponsor, is really plowing into his agri- culture bunch. So is MR. EEGLEY, teaching his shop boys. l've heard he's hunting a job running a movie projector in some theatre. Our new typing teacher is MlSS STETNKE. Peppy? Wowl She shares honors with MISS McEWEN who courageously shoulders the Snooper as well as the typing mob. MR. NEWELL still waves a mean baton at the band. MlSS WRIGHT whooped up some grand dramatic TEST CDN THE FACULTY features this year, putting life into clods. MlSS DEAN has been using her dra- matic ability making social and Ameri- can history classes pay attention. Who's doin' the office work? Trusty MlSS MOSEQ we'd be lost without her. Too bad we couldn't get his picture in this year. MlSS CRUSE took the clothing and foods classes under her thumb. She's swell! And you might know, MR. The school board election is now over, the booths have been hauled away, and everything has settled com- fortably back in place. ln the election, Mr. Dove handed his presidential duties over to Mr. Younger, and Mrs. Sioesard was considered too competent to lose, so she is still the secretary. The board still is behind all school activity and during the year has done many grand things for the benetit ot all oi us. We decided to include this view ot Shelbyville from the air, because it shows in pictures how the board repre- sents the community in furthering the schools interests. The council's still being smoothly run by Mr. Pegley. BUTCH is our class presi- dent this year, and he can really handle the rabble at class meetings. MICKEY stands by as vice-president ready to take over at a moment's notice. Clf the notice came, I doubt if she could do it.D The secretary and treasurer are all wrapped up in one again this year, so ATKIE is busy trying to get them un- wrapped. ROSE HOLLAND was al- ways good at arithmetic. Honest, she's even brighter. THERON has been hav- ing a swell time this year as chief pho- tographer for the annual. In spare min- utes he takes pictures of MONTE. IEAN CUTLER has to budget her time be- tween high school and Sparks. She's interested in business, or is she? RICH- ARD BLAND is taller, darker, and hand- somer, but just as silent as ever. The competent, attractive secretary in ye old principal's office is none other than MARY GAYLOR. Dashing around hither and yon, in daylight and dark this year, IACK MERRELL has been our SO LONC. most rabid candid-camera fan. And MARY IANE up and left us to get mar- ried, threw us over for a mere Taylor. BILL MOYER, our curly headed farmer, has made a name as a footballer and a crooner. What a combination! We al- most lost LOIS ALLEN when her people moved, but we're glad she stayed to finish with us. RALPH PRICE spends much of his time burning up the road between here and Rana. You'd be sur- prised how much that boy has grown up. We missed VERA DAVIS a while back and found she was at home enter- taining mumps. DVl.7lGl-lT SPECHT came from there too, but left us to go back. MARLAN Dll-lEL is of the stuff all swell people are made of. That BROWN boy, VICTOR, has led a quiet life hereabouts, but we'll miss him. HNNY ROMINGER flits here and there, there being Sparks. GEORGIA SUMMERS runs NOEL and helps him run the senior stand. So busy with heart affairs, LA VANCE seldom gets around our way. And that YOUNG boy, HUCK, is the last in the long line of Young males. LOY REED is still an im- portant segment of the class backbone. They say IENNIE SUMMERLOTT is the drawing card that keeps a certain alumnus hanging 'round. CGuess who.D EVERETT SCHWENKER has been so busy with an under Class-woman that we hardly see him. What with being on all programs, in all plays, head fire- man at the council fire, PAUL ISEN- BERG, would-be big shot, made it. EAE YAKEY was almost an assistant to Mr. Akenhead-her annual job. DOC SPESARD still drops nickles in the model A, and she runs. ln spare time, BETTY RAETZ helps at the Sta-rite. DEAN ROB- INSON found a way to make himself a grown-up-football. You should see his manly form in a padded football suit. Now that spring has come Cand baseballj, we know what hes waited for. Cowden sent us IEANNE MlLl.ER, and shes been toot- ing her horn ever since. CFooled you, didn't I? Shes in the band.j EDDTE MARS was indispensable in athletics- - played football, worked on the athletic committee, was basketball manager. One of our busiest gals was ELSIE CAIN. We are indebted to her for sev- eral clever programs, for she was one of the hardest-working members of that gang. Heres one boy who isn't satis- fied to do only what he has to do. DWANE SHAFFER made himself so useful to us on the annual staff that we just had to adopt him. MARHAYN DUCKETT is still a whiz-bang with her figgers . Shes also Very active in sports. And remember VVAYNE Mll.LER, the woman-hater? Well, now hes chief head woman-hunter. PHYL AlCl-HZLE is one of our very best pushers when theres some work SO LUNG. to be done. She gets her practice pushing Wib around. Yes, that affair is still on, at least part of the time. Gur most outstanding lady-killer is DCU- GLE Sl-IQAFF-in his own opinion, at least. LOUlSE WlLLlAMS has pro- duced a fine alto voice for chorus and plenty of energy for G. A. A. WNCENT RAETZ is one of our chief arguers. just the mention of politics sets him off like a firecracker. Queen IRMA Pl-IELPS just about had her warm smile frozen at the crowning between halves of the homecoming game. ATKIE says that'll never happen because she uses anti- freeze tooth paste. MERLIN PHEG- LEY, another Lakewood-er, has lately proved a fearless boxer and wrestler. BEULAH RAGAN has showed her de- pendability by the way she keeps an iron hand on the library crowd at noon. We still enjoy her black hair. The spar- kle of a new engagement ring so dis- tracts MAXINE PHEGLEY that it's a wonder she can study as much as she does. AUBREY ISLEY is just about everything on the Snooper, but his LASSOFl911O official position is just that of co-editor. He's a famous rebel, too, against speed laws. NELDA FERN PAGE has had the nerve to flaunt a good-looking alumnus right in the faces of the Shelby swains. IQHNNIE DQWNS ll. Wfl has long been prominent around these parts. l-le's pretty prominent with TOODY. RITA TYNAN is one girl who will always get right in and pitch whenever she's needed. Little HARRY LUMPP has done so much in boxing and wrestling that we almost forget he's so little. TOQDY DUNAGAN is an actress and comedienne. She can get a laugh out of the sourest pickle. PAUL MCDONALD is so very quiet, but we did find out that he hails from Lakewood. BETTY ROBERTS and MONTE MARX are the iussin'est best triends that we know, except SPUDDY and DEAN. And DEAN? Oh, yes! SHUEE was the best subject for huggin' Cdesires onlyl when he sank those tamous long shots this year. RICHARD COURTRIGHT has grown ever so much taller, and he is a big talker as always. Some say VIVIAN POGUE will desert a singing career for marriage when she graduates. BOB VVAGGONER isn't all here. His heart is thirtyftopir miles away. BETTY IONES and friend DORIS HOWE are practic- ally inseparable. It's heart attairs that hold them together. A busier or more business-like person than NOEL MIL- LER, you'll probably never tind. How SO LONG. he gets everything done, I'll never understand. IOYCE BARBEE appears to be destined tor a good home-maker. Shes very strong in home ec. HENRY THOMPSON is also quite domestic. He takes the boy's home ec. course. EILEEN FRY ought to be a good stenographer. She's proved herself worthy this year. IOE FURRY has grown so handsome he could be a real heart-breaker it he took a notion. GAR- ETH TOWNSEND hides around in the corners, but we see him once in a while. ANNA VESTA is usually so busy she can't be caught, and we're proud to claim her for our class. RUTH DITZLER is such a good typist the teachers fuss over her. NELDA ASKINS and IAMES IGI-INSON came too late to get their pictures ing she's from Pana, he's from Decatur. We just couldn't get GAREIELD WIL- LIS' picture. THE OTHER DAY our gang got together and tried hard to penetrate the heavy curtain across the future. We didn't get a very good look, but we got several peeks. It was worth the laughs.
