Sports. Athletic Banquet Parents and faculty members again hon- ored Shelby athletes and coaches at the an- nual Athletic Banquet. Coaches Keith Rittscher and Al Mews pre- sented awards and letters to members ot the football, boys and girls basketball and track, and girl's softball teams. Mrs. McBride also presented awards to the cheerleaders. As an example, four of the District Contest participants were seniors, the rest were sophomores and a freshman. Of the four qualifiers for the State Individuals Contest at Boone, three were seniors. Sue Kiesel, the only underclassrnotn of the state qualifiers, and Di Ferguson received Il ratings at Boone while Karen Schutt and Lorrie Anderson reaped I ratings. The Seniors and their experience will be missed, but the underclassmen prom- ise a bright future.
