Third Grade R R Row one: Sherry Manz, Mary K. Kroll, Donald Andersen, Wade Sick, Bill Winnett, Alan Eggerss, Ion Thies, Richard Stuhr, Barney Thomsen, Dianna Christianson, Iulie Boeck. Row two: Mrs, Stephens, Kelly Henderson, Rita Peters Barbara Peterson, Rebecca Krummel, Deanna Dea, Lori Leinen, Iean Young, Valerie Klindt, Rhonda Nelsen, Brenda Peterson. The elementary grades presented a Christmas program in December. The theme Was, Christ- mas Around the World. Each room entertained the Music Mothers at a meeting this year. They gave a variety of pro- grams, including songs, dances, poems, and plays. All of the grades participated in the annual Science Fair. The first and second grades did class projects. The other grades did individual experiments. Prizes were awarded to the winners in each class. Kindergarten through sixth grade went on field trips in the spring. They were planned to enrich the year's school programs. Kindergarten-Henry Doorly Zoo, First Grade-Havicks Dairy Farm and Shelby Bank, Second grade-Harlan airport, Library, and supermarket, Shelby post office, fire sta- tion and lumber yard, Second and third grades-Henry Doorly Zoo, post office, lumber yard, and fire station, Third grade-Henry Doorly Zoo, Fourth grade-Red Oak Planetarium, Calendar factory, Fifth grade-Atlantic bank, Bell Telephone Co., Radio Station, Sixth grade-Council Bluffs Dodge House, Lewis and Clark Monument.
