Below is one of the many tine displays at the annual Science Fair. Nancy Secor, Edna Pike, Allan Hjelle, Berniece Schumacher Sibylle ? ? ? Certain Women supposed to be in- spired by a deity were called Sibyls by the Greeks. The most celebrated Sibyl was the Cumaeau one Who was traditionally known tor her wisdom. The advisers of the 1968-69 news- paper staff, Edna Pike and Nancy Secor, introduced a Sibylle column in the Cardinal Chatter. Letters from puzzled or lovelorn readers were addressed to Sibylle Ca mysterious third personl who duly and wisely answered their questions. The identity of Sibylle was faithfully kept secret until the end of the year when a contest was conducted to guess her C'?l identity. The Winner of that contest was Berniece Schumacher, the only one of 103 students to guess correctly that Sibylle was Mr. Allan Hjelle. f zeswvzs- suv1-were ew- W ----H rmm ,titer Letter Club A Row one: Mr. Mews Ksponsorl, David Dittmer CVice-Presidentl, Dennis Linn fPresidentJ, lean, Volkens CSecretaryl, Bob lensen fTreasurerD, Mr. Rittscher fsponsorl. As an example, four of the District Contest participants were seniors, the rest were sophomores and a freshman. Of the four qualifiers for the State Individuals Contest at Boone, three were seniors. Sue Kiesel, the only underclassrnotn of the state qualifiers, and Di Ferguson received Il ratings at Boone while Karen Schutt and Lorrie Anderson reaped I ratings. The Seniors and their experience will be missed, but the underclassmen prom- ise a bright future. Sports.
