Standing: Sue Kiesel, Iulie Boeck, Pat Dea, Debbie Davis, Bernice Schumacher, Mr. McBride, Linda Stuhr and Virginia Chipman received I's at the district contest and later competed at the state contest where they received Il's. Speech Pictured at right, Pat Dea and Carol Peters who com peted in the American Legion Speech Contest on the Constitution. Pat received second place in the local con test, while Carol took first. Carol then went on to win the county contest, and placed third in the district. During the year, The Blue-Iay Players from the Iowa Western Community College pre- sented the play, The Bald Soprano, They are pictured at left.

STHS had six entries in the 1968 Hawkeye Science Fair in Des Moines. Seven students traveled to Des Moines with Mr. and Mrs. Moot- hart for two days.
