1964 SENIOR PROPHECY Double, Double Toil and Trouble In a dark forest around a big black pot on Halloween, 1974, we see three witches. They are casting spells and looking into the future. We are trying to find out what has become of the famous, talented, intelligent, and gorgeous class of 1964. As we look into the pot, we see clearly what has become of everyone in their different parts of the country. First, we see a Chicago street and who should be there but John Rihner. John moved there to take over the mafia because of his experience with gang fights. In Blair General we see a hospital corridor. Interns are running every which way and who should be chasing them but Linda Morris, R.N. She also has a part-time job as clean-up woman with a veternarian because of her past ex- perience. Back at Shelby we see Connie Babbitt running the lumberyard, home build- ing, and light pole repairing corporation. She ran it until 1968 by herself. Here we are in Africa at a big game hunt. Merlin Bargenquast is leading the hunt because of his knowledge about guns and his ability to be heard for miles. Next, we see a sign on a door in Paris, reading Madame Marian's Beauty Shoppe. Marian has made a fortune trimming French poodles and dying hair green. As the steam rolls out of the pot, we see a sign reading, Ferguson's Refin- ishing Shop. Steve took up this work after getting his experience after school refinishing desks. Denny Wahling is now running a school for car hops. He has learned all he knows from extensive observation. The bubbles are rolling out of the pot and we see a supermarket run by Susan Fries who has her own line of check out boys. We hear a faint sound echoing AVON calling, and we now see Diane Eckel following in her mother's footsteps. A The witches are getting tired now, but we promise we will help them play some dirty tricks on Halloween. Now, they add some more toads to the pot and we see the rest of the class. As the smoke dies down, we see Terry Buck running an amusement park. She couldn 't forget her love for roller coasters. As the picture clears, we see Art Rieber running an experiment farm for the government. He gained his job because of his talks about agriculture. In New York, we see Jerry Evans. Jerry is the owner of a string of night clubs and is an able manager. Now, we see a big sign reading, Goshorn's Savings and Loan. Bill learned this business the hard way and is making money by financing cars. The next thing we see is a string of trucks all reading, Grabi1l's Shipping. Carole started this business because of her love of modern pickups with power brakes. Here we see some waving fields of corn and who should we see, but Pat Mortensen the new head of Pioneer Seed Corn Company. She got this position because of her detasseling experience. Through the smoke, we see a small street and on it is a group of Salvation Army campaigners with their new commander Bob Davis. He got this position after crashing a jet in the Air Force. The last few bubbles of the pot roll over and we see a small sign reading, Johansen's Body and Muffler Repair Shop. Connie decided to repair her own mufflers to save money. In Shelby, we find Kay Wagner working at the bank in Auto-Loan Depart- ment specializing in red convertibles. Now, we decide to leave the witches because they are making quite an up- roar. We will say good-bye and come back again on Halloween next year. SUPERIOR SENIOR CLASS OF '64 ss Q7 mum vu-an Q em.-.nv 7
