CLASS HISTORY In September 1942, Eighty Green Freshles enrolled at Shelby High We elected Niss Dickie as our Class Advisor Our Class Officers were President, Arthur Anderson, Secretary, Roger Wieman, Treasurer, Mary Ann Porter, Student Council Representative, Fred Lear We were initiated by the sophomores sponsored a party Wlhe Jinksu Narch 13 School Upon returning to school in September 1045 DeSm1t was chosen our Class Advisor Our Fred Near Vice President, Mary Ellen Near Faye Henry Student Council Representative privilege of initiating the freshmen Class shortly after school started W closed with a picnic at Stoney Lake we were promoted to Sophomores Piss Officers were Robert Wheeler President Secretary, Vary Relle Norse Treasurer, and Shortly after school b gan we had the December 22 we sponsored a party NSnow Flur ries W In the latter part of May we journeyed to Stoney Lake where we had our picnic which ended up our Sophomore year The next September of 1944 we enrolled as Juniors ve elected Mr Van Zanten as our Class Advisor Our Class Officers were President, Maxy Belle Norse Vice Pres ident, Joel VanderVeen Secretary Treaurer, Fay Henry, Student Council Pepresentetive Eva Smith We sponsored our party the Nbeap Year Ball' on January 12 The annual school carnival was held in the school on November 19 and 20 Our candidates for King and Queen of the carnival were Faye Henry and Peter VanderWall In honor of the Seniors we sponsored the Junior Senior banouet UFol1day Innn on May 5 School closed the last of May The following September we cane back a dignified Seniors, with a new Superin tendent and a nev Principal Fany of our classmates dropped our for the Armed Services and other various reasons For Class Advisor we chose Nr Nithenbury Our Class Officers were President, Dorothy Studer, Vice President, Peter VanderWall Secretary Treasurer, Josephine Fanberg and Student Council Pepresentative Puth wentzloff December 1 we gave the party Hwinter Timeu and on February 16 we presented our Senior play nThe haunted High Schooln which was a great success we celebrated d1ess up day in the usual way of wearing costumes Our skip day trip on Nay 16 to 18 took us Holland and Chicago by boat to We were honored by a Junior Senior banouet given by the Juniors on May 11 Baccalaureaw Services were held Nay 27 Class Night May 30 and Commencement on May 51 GOOD! ilihi H0590 GOOD!
