Carmean has served as superintendent oi schools for the Shelby School District. This 1962- 1963 school year he has helped to promote a 1.9 mil- lion bond issue for a new high school which will be completed in the fall ot 1964. Choosing and advising the faculty and providing the best possible educational program keeps Mr. Carmean busy yet he always is avail- able to counsel any teacher or student who seeks his ad- vice. During his seventeen years as principal of Shelby High School he has proved invaluable as cz friend and advisor. Aided by his secretary, Mrs. Ieanette Noble, many new school activities have been devel- oped. Mr. McCollouqh is always ready to aid students in choosing their subjects and to direct them in setting their goals for the future.
