He has proved himself to be an efficient school adminis- trator during the three years he has served as principal of the high school here at Shelby. SUPEHINTENDENT BYRON H. CARMEAN, A. B., M. A. A Friend to All. An able administrator for school affairs, a Willing counsellor in com- munity problems, a loyal friend to all school personnel-these are but a few of the characteristics of our superintendent of schools, Mr. Carmean. He has labored faithfully and unselfishly to place Shelby Schools on the highest possible educational levels. His work in the planning of new buildings for elementary schools at the present time is commendable. MRS. BETTY D. HURSH Secretary to the superintendent and Clerk-Treasurer of the Board of Edu- cation. An efficient secretary. Mrs. Hursh resigned in February of this year. She will always be remem- bered for her efficient services in the school's oiiice.
