Memories of the 1986 football season held many ups and downs as is shown by the 5-4 record. The Huskies met several tough oppo- nents and lost a few games but Coach O'Brien stated, The team effort was basically good. While of- fensively the Huskies sometimes sputtered, the defense was usually strong. One definite highlight of the sea- son would be the 6-0 Homecoming win over Osceola, which was battled out in the pouring rain. Even though the Huskies ended up with a winning record, some players feel they could have done better. Senior Captain Jeff Ingalls said, I don't feel we played our best throughout the season. Contrary to this attitude, the Hus- kies recieved many All-Conference awards. Earning a spot on All-Con- ference 1st team was Mike Scow as an offensive guard and defensive lineman. Mark Fusco tied for Defen- sive Back Secondary. Those that were named to All-Conference Hon orable Mention team were, Larry Tworek as offensive center and de- fensive end, Chuck Kuhnel as Line- backer and Allen Smith as Running Back. The toughest loss of the year to take, as always, was the last one against Dorchester. This year it was even more difficult because it pre- vented the Huskies from entering state playoffs. When it was all over injured Senior Larry Tworek said. “I was wishing I was in. They played with a lot of emotion and when it was over, I couldn’t believe it was over for good.
