Clash Day marked the beginning of the traditional Homecoming Spirit Week. Tuesday brought around Backwards-inside out Day followed by Opposite Sex Day, 50 s Day, and Sweats Day on Friday. On Thursday the girls volleyball team played Clarks. Shelby won in three sets 15- 11,7-15,15-5. Following the game, a bonfire was held east of the football field. Friday marked the big day. Everyone was busy all morning preparing floats for the parade which would start at 1:30 p.m. . This years theme was cartoons . The fresh- man's float, Smurfs , took first place. The football game was next on the agen- da. Shelby fans came ready to cheer the football team to victory. Shelby defeated the Osceola Bulldogs 43-12 in an exciting game. Coronation followed the football game in the gym. Candidates were Tami Hegi, Becky Fusco, Laura Benson, Tammy Fisher, Tyler Nekl, Andy Hiemer, Mike Davis, and Roger Hopwood. Crown bearers were Amanda Hopwood and Dallas Thelen. Homecoming queen was Becky Fusco and Homecoming king was Andy Hiemer. A dance sponsored by Pep Club was held fol- lowing coronation.
