At the start of the season the Hus- kies were picked to be a little weak. As one area paper put it, “Perennial Power not so strong.” The Huskies soon put these critics to rest as they won their first three games against the tougher teams of the CRC. The Huskies finished 9- 0 in regular season play capturing both the CRC Title and the District Championship. This put the Hus- kies into the State Playoffs for the first time in Shelby’s History. Shel- by then defeated Shickley in the Quarter Finals, but lost to Spalding Academy in the Semi-Finals. The Huskies finished the season with an out standing 10-1 record and were rated fifth in the State.
