We the class of 1980 would like to dedicate our annual to a friend and former classmate, DeeAnn Hopwood. She will always be in our memories. Times went by without a thought And memories passed through our minds. We don't think of time as living today But remembering the past. Yesterday. Take now as forever and live what you can. There may not be a tomorrow. For one day you're here and the next you are gone. Don’t wait for a friend until sorrow. 4 Think SMALLfl Is It Good, Helen? OO! OOt I Know! As one area paper put it, “Perennial Power not so strong.” The Huskies soon put these critics to rest as they won their first three games against the tougher teams of the CRC. The Huskies finished 9- 0 in regular season play capturing both the CRC Title and the District Championship. This put the Hus- kies into the State Playoffs for the first time in Shelby’s History. Shel- by then defeated Shickley in the Quarter Finals, but lost to Spalding Academy in the Semi-Finals. The Huskies finished the season with an out standing 10-1 record and were rated fifth in the State. At 1 a.m. on May 3rd the senior class of 1980 set out for Kalfran Lodge In Osage Beach. Missouri. We arrived at the lodge around 11:00, Saturday morning. After the long bus ride we decided to spend the afternoon re- laxing by the pool. There were also speed boats, sea planes, canoes, paddle boats, and various games and activities to make our time more exciting. Around 7:00 p.m. we went to the Brass Door for a delicious dinner of prime rib and to the Ozark Opry. The next day we all went to look around In Dog Patch, a small souvenir village. After a hot morning of shopping we returned to the lodge to enjoy the sun and water activities. The evening was filled with a trip up town to ride the bumper cars, go-carts, and the giant slide. We had a very exciting time the last night at Kalfran with a disco, a hot dog roast, and a get-together with some of the other kids at the lodge. We left Osage Beach at 9:30 a.m. and arrived back home around 7:30 p.m. This trip left all of ua with a very memorable experience. What a crewtf Tim, swim?? Got an Itch. Kat??
