I After hours of practice, the band journeyed to Lincoln for State Marching Contest on October 25, where they received an Excellent rating. The hometown fans enjoyed the half-time performances of the marching band during foot- ball season as much as the popular songs of the Pep Band during basketball season. They not only supported the team, but provided enter- tainment as well. At the Crossroads Conference Band Clinic in York, the SHS musicians won 12 out of 24 first chair positions. The band also delighted the crowd with their special number Alla Borocca. On April 24, the band traveled to Fullerton, for the District Music Contest. There, the band received 8 Superior and 3 Excellent ratings. This concluded a very successful year for the Shelby Husky Band.
