Juniors, Mick Matousek and Kay Abbott, Boy and Girl Staters were chosen to es- cort the Seniors in. Kathleen McKeag was Salutatorian and Richard Alt was Valedictorian of the class of 1967. Mr. Royal Henline of the Nebraska State Department of Education was the featured guest speaker at Commencement. Receive Diplomas on May 16 After four years of hard work and preparation the big night, May 16, finally came for the graduating class. The SHS Band played the traditional Pomp and Circumstance for the processional and recessional. As is also tradition, Kathleen McKeag, Salutatorian, opened the program with her speech about the future. Mr. Royal Henline, the guest speaker for Commence- ment, gave the class some very good advice in his IQ or QQ speech. The triple trio added a musical touch to the pro- gram when they sang Halls of Ivy. Robert L. Jones presented honors and awards to the Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Richard Alt, Valedictorian, made farewell remarks in closing speech. Rev. Martin Braun, of the E.U.B. Church, delivered the Invocation and Benediction at the Commencement Service. Rev. Norman Crounse, of the Methodist Church, officiated over Baccalaureate services held May 14 in the High School. Rev. Crounse gave the Invocation, Scripture and Prayer, Sermon, and Benediction. Susan V rbka played the processional and recessional and the girls glee gave the musical selection Enchantment. A flute solo, Adobe, was given by Sally McGimpsey and the triple trio sang Now Is the Hour. Leonard Hiemer, member of the school board, had the honor of presenting the diplomas to the graduates after the class was presented by Principal, Robert L. Jones.
