Cheerleaders- Sue Doty, Nellie Cox, Taddiken. -----------, Joyce Scow, , Braithwait, Janet Knight, Karen Thelen, Marge Ingalls, Kay Loy The Pt., Club Story The initial purpose of the Shelby Pep Club is to cheer the Shelby Huskie's football, basketball, and track teams to victory. it is, as well, an organization that raises money for progressive activities such as the Athletic Banquet. One of the goals which the Club accomplished this year was the collecting of Folger's Coffee key strips for a coffee urn that is used to serve coffee at all the football and basketball games. At the first of the year a club sponsor was elected by the Pep Club members. Miss Gladys Hartwell was voted as the sponsor for the year. The Club enrollment for 1956 was twenty-nine girls. This years members were initiated in May of 1955. The initia- tion took place at Scow's dam in the bluffs north of town. Early in the evening the new S-Club members were initiated. Later the boys en- joyed a weiner roast. Jerry Peterson, Howard Whitmore, Myron Hiemer, Don Wombacher, Eugene Reisdorff, Keith Walden, Larry Daum, Bernerd Haskins, Gary Abbott, Ron Vakoc, Larry Funkhouser, Benny Thelen, and Gene Scow were the football lettermen for the 55 season.
