Shelby had a good basketball team this year but had a hard time getting started. Although the boys had both height and talent, they place only third in the Little Six Conference. The Huskies first ten was composed of eight seniors and two juniors. This years members were initiated in May of 1955. The initia- tion took place at Scow's dam in the bluffs north of town. Early in the evening the new S-Club members were initiated. Later the boys en- joyed a weiner roast. Jerry Peterson, Howard Whitmore, Myron Hiemer, Don Wombacher, Eugene Reisdorff, Keith Walden, Larry Daum, Bernerd Haskins, Gary Abbott, Ron Vakoc, Larry Funkhouser, Benny Thelen, and Gene Scow were the football lettermen for the 55 season.
