THE CHORUS WON HONORS. Louder, corae on kids! you can do better than this! These were some of the comments heard during the school year of music. Mr. Dellinger, the capable instructor, directed the Christmas concert and prepared us for the yearly dis- trict music contest, held in Fremont. At the 1952 District Music Contest, the Shelby vocal- ists won four superior ratings. Back Rov?: Paul Rosenberry, Charles Gabel, Tom Kerkman, Bill Ray, Kenneth Knight, and Louis Whitmore. Middle Row: Gene Scow, Keith Walden, Ronald Smith, Dwayne Harms, Jim Hastert, Donald Gabel. Front Larry Hasselbalch, Jerome Reisdorff, Coach Mat's— chullat, Myron Heimer,; Bob Jostes, not shovn. The season of '52 began with nine lettermen returning to S.H.S.: - Jim Hastert, S Club president: Tom Kerkman, Vice-President; Charles Gabel, Secretary-treasurer; Paul Rosenberry, Dwayne Harms, Bill Ray, Louis Whitmore, Larry Hasselbalch, Jerome Reisdorff. At the end of the football season the club membership was increased to sixteen high-spirited boys. Page 27
