 WHILE THE GRADES GREW UP. Kindergarten. Back Row. Sandra Smith, YoVonne Bernt, Marvel Davis, Miss Brigham. Front Row: Linda Carter, Gregg Ransom, Tamara Clatter, LeVonn Bernt, Jane Kumpf, Pamela Watkins, Connie Dunning. The Kindergarten children 3pent the first part of the year getting acquainted with the school room and with one another. Favorite activities of the students during the year included painting at the easels, building with blocks, and playing with doll3 in the corner dbll house. The first and second grade room, which had the largest enrollment in the grades, enjoyed studying many activity units. A unit particularly enjoyed in the third and fourth grade room was one from social studies on food. The study of the yeast germ wa3 of chief interest, and they ended the unit by baking rolls. Another unit particularly enjoyed was the one on the study of the life of the glia monster. Three members of the fifth and sixth grade room were de- lighted when they were told they could attend Band Day in Lincoln. One of the most interesting units of this room was the display of rocks collected from different states. The students of this classroom took much interest in the study of the main units of the United Nations. Band interest ran high in the seventh and eighth grade room with seven out of 16 pupils participating. One of the best liked units in this classroom was the study of squares, rectangles, and parallelagrams in mathematics. To conclude this unit they made art designs which correl- ated with their knowledge of measurements. n r R I Page 16.

The Sophomore Class entered another school year with the same old enthusiasm that was displayed while they were still green freshles . Although the class enrollment Is only nine, the sopho- mores have been very active in school activities. One of their outstanding school parties was a pie social which was held for the benefit of the band. This class Is very co-operative and willing to work for what they want. Freshman Class.
