Mrs. De- Priest supplies information and application blanks for tests, scholarships, and colleges. She helps the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors select their courses for the following years. Mrs. DePriest is responsible for College Day, Vocational Day, giving Scholastic Apti- tude Tests, and administering the vocational tests to the seniors not planning to attend college. The advice and information available in the Guidance Department benefits every student of our school. Do-it-yourself prevails at Shelby High Watch your fingers, boys! Freshman and sophomore boys inter- ested in manual arts have an ample op- portunity to further their special skills. A shop with modern machinery, in addi- tion to a qualified teacher, creates both enjoyable and informative class sessions. The projects that the class members pro- duce are very beautiful and useful in their homes. Oops! Missed a stitch. All girls appreciate the helpfulness of the home economics department. First, second, and third year home economics are offered as elective courses. Shelby High is proud of new cafeteria The newest addition to the physical lay- out of Shelby High is our new cafeteria and kitchen. There Mrs. Beam and her capable staff of cooks prepare nourishing meals for the students of our school and the junior high school.
