The library subscribes to twenty-nine maga- zines and four newspapers, There are also gift magazine subscriptions from local people, Magazine files go back to the early 1930's. The magazine files include the copy of LIFE with a picture of Mr, Buff during World War II, Magazines are listed on periodical cards for ready reference when using the Reader's Guide, Bound volumes are on the open shelves and others are available on request. The library subscribes to the Sunday edition of the New York Times, the Great Falls Tribune, the Shelby Promoter, and the Shelby Times, Pamphlets are classified and filed in pamphlet boxes, They are listed by subject in a separate catalog. It has over 250 pamphlets on different ca- reers, There are pamphlets from Montana boards and commissions, in addition to pamphlets on top- ics such as health, science, government and crime, There are sample ballots of elections back to the early 193O's. The general reference works include encyclopedias, Who's Who in America, Current Biogra- phy, 'Twentieth Century Authors, a three-volume set of 'Encyclopedia of Names, Lincoln Libra- ry of Information, In addition to library work, the librarians help students repair textbooks, The Library also serves people of the community and at times ex-Shelby students in other places. The Key Club, which was started this year in SHS is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, Its purpose is to assist in all school activi- ties.
