SFNIOR CLASS HISTORY The opemng of the school term of 1935 marked an rmportant event Thrs was the entrance of the class of 39 1nto hrgh school The f1fSl year was ushered rn by the usual 1n1t1at1on after whlch the freshmen were completely subdued and wrllrng to keep rn therr place for the rest of the year Later ID the year the class proved that they held no grudge and gave the sophomores a return party Durlng the sophomore year the class lost rts meekness and entered 1nto the school act1v1t1es Thrs year the sophomores had the prlvrlege to be on the delrverrng end of the paddl s for 1n1t1at1on The class of 39 has b '1 very outstandrng rn many of the extra currrcular UCt1J1l19S Many members of the class have taken part 1n dramatrcs lournalrsm athletrcs and musrc The sophomore class was well represented rn the Semor All School Play Grrl Shy Bepresentatrves were Davrd Thorn Vearl Addy Don Edwards and lean Kalbflersch All of these students turned 1n good performances and were awarded parts rn the Iunror play of last year whlch was narned Nothrng But Lles In ad drtron to these other students who took part were Evelyn Allen Duane Fredell Bobbre McNamer Alan Turk and Dlck Kavanagh The Juntors were also rep esented rn the Semor play Let s Get Together Takrng part were Davld Thorn and 'Vearl Addy The class of 39 has also recerved conslderable drstrnctron rn the freld of athletrcs Don Edwards was the only member of the class to IGCQIVS an athletrc award as a freshman Th1s was a basketball letter The sophomore year saw Don Edwards Davrd Thorn Duane Fredell and Dan Prrce Wm football awards whrle Howard Bashor Don Edwards Duane Eredell and Dav1d Thorn won lasketball letters for the season of 1936 1937 McNamer and Kavanagh on the football squad and each of them won a letter The four Junrors who won basketball letters were Thorn Bashor Eredell and Edwards each of them berng on the f1rst strrng The sen1or year was marked wrth as much act1v1ty by rts members tn vctra currrcular work as rn the past years The cast of the lunror All School Play l Wrll I Wont contarned three senrors They were Vearl Addy Duane rredell and Vrrgrnra Nelson The Senror All School Play Parents and Prg falls whrch was held Aprrl 21 was made up almost entrrely of semors Those takrng Dart were Don Edwards V1rg1n1a Nelson Evelyn Allen Bobby Mc Namer Barbara Iohnson Betty Polrng lean Kalbflersch Eleanor Huckleberry and Alan Turk The socral event of the year the Iun1orSen1or banquet followed by the , 1n1or Prom was held on May 7 1938 The banquet was held at the Caprtal Cafe The prom held at the hrgh school audrtorrum followed The musrc for the prom was furnlshed by Don Eckels orchestra The motlf carrred out for the banquet and prom was Mother Goose Land The sen1or year was a repet1t1on of the eventful Jumor year 1n regard to laotball and basketball In athletrcs th1s class has earned hrgh drstrnctron 1 ootball awards were presented to Vearl Addy Howard Bashor Don Edwards Duane Eredell Alan Turk Dave Thorn and Cecll Polrng In basketball the entrre frrst strrng lrne up was made up of semors Those comprrsrng the frrst fve were Dave Thorn Don Edwards Duane Fredell Howard Bashor and Bob lVlcNamer 1 I L 301 ' f 3 1 1 In 4 I 1 ll' I ll ' I n A 1 ' , .
