LIDIIIIII lllstury rn the fall of l934 a very rmportant event took place wrth regard to thc helby Hrgh School student body That event was the entrance of the clas o l938 Thrs partrcular group of students were destmed to make hrstory whrch x 1ll long be remembered by all future students of the school Actron was begun w1th a bang when all students of thrs group war ve ry 4art fully uuuated 1nto tht serrous nnnded body of Shelby Hrgh student IX process of deflatlon was undergone durmg th1s well arranged untratton althou gh all students rallled rn the followmg weeks and sponsored a Be turn Party wluf lm ctunaxed thrs comparatrvely uneventful term Hrghltghts of the sophomore year were the lnrtratron and Beturn Party whtch were well planned By the second year the class was assurnrng a posrtlon of lnportance rn such school actlvrtles as athletfcs mustc and Journalrsm Be-comlng upperclassmen proved to have in store many delrghtful and txcrtrng rncldcnts A very successful football and excrtlng tf not succes ful 1 asketball s ason were trlurnphantly passed The Iunlor Play Who Vllouldn t Be Crazy was ln the meantrme produced whrch paralleled the football season 1 success lunrors who proved to have heretofore unknown abrlrty as actors were lam s McDonough lohn Lyon Hrta Byrne Gladys lanes Bernard Stenc Glen Cox Margaret Spencer Bob Wherr Cath rue H squ t Iovclfn iamb rs oth dramatlcally and hnanclally Thrs productron was followed rn the sprrnq by the All School Play G1rl Shy IH whrch Btta Byrne Gladys lon on Nherr and Bernard Stene partrcrpated The event of the season the Tumor Senror Banquet followed by the Iunror Prom came next The banquet was held 1n the Cap1tal Cafe and produced th des1red effect of a well planned program and banquet Th Prom held rn the mgh school audltonum followed Musrc was furmshed by the Great Falls DeMolay Orchestra D9COfGl1ODS were of modermstrc fashron All student ported a delrghtful evenlng The senror year was a repetrtron of the eventful and excrtmg tumor year rn regard to football and basketball ln athletrcs the class earned hrgh dlsttnchon t 1 all four seasons Ioe Mallette Tony Mlgneault and Boy Strom represented the class H1 football durrng the frrst two years Each recerved letter awards and srlver footballs Durmg the rumor season loe Tony and Boy wrth the addltron of Glen Cox lohn Lyon Marshall Marmont and Alton Wrgen were on the football squad loe Tony Boy and Glen were also basketball letter wlnners as well as wearers of srlver footballs for therr outstandrng work The last season saw the above named wrth the add1t1on of Lawrence Flesch and Howard Porter drrve on to another Drstrrct Champronshrp rn football Ioe Tony f len Boy and Marshall all were basketball letter wmners rn thelr semor year 'Three of these loe Tony and Boy now have the unsurpassed record of be mg on the Drstnct Charnpronshrp football team for four years In the Journaltstrc freld Glen Cox loyclyn Chambers lames McDonough and Brta Byrne have orought drstmctron to thrs class by therr abrlrty Glen Cox vas edrtor rn chref of The Howl dunng thrs last year Ili!
