2460 THF COYOTE 0112155 Qrntnrg We carrie here four years ago as green as Irishmen on Saint Patricks Day We knew practically nothing except that we were here to get something called sense from our teachers and upper classmen When we were Freshmen we had an enrollment of twenty two However some of these drd not resume then work with us the following year They are Pearl and Pauline Beaxes Flton Larson, Billy Garrison, Srggr Srgurd son, Janice Johnson, My rtle Anderson Gladys Jorgenson and Florence Summers In our Sophomore Vear our enrollment came down to fourteen Nita Johnson and Vera Bluhm however, Joined our class taking the places of some of those who had gone Our third year saw the increase of our class from fourteen to seventeen L ona Carter was the only one to leare But we got four new students namely Doral Prllrng Dorothy Connelly, Wilmer Torgerson and Orxllle Putnam We started out last fall with the largest enrollment of anv Senior class rn the history of the S H S We had nlneteen students just one less than we had when we were Freshmen but of cour se we were a brrfrhter and better class Those who began their Senior year rn 1923 are Emily Ivnch Alma Rensmon Rubx Martrn Ethel Rens mon Nita Johnson Rossle Rrdle Beatrrcc Kolstad Vera Karczmaerk Joe Kennedy Wrlbert Martrn lloyd Stover Glcnn Srgler Ralph Bcngamrn Lloyd Murrllls Orville Putnam Lconard and Garrett Parccll Doral Prllrng and Wilmer Torgerson However all of these drd not attcnd more than three wccks those who drd not are Gladys Olson and Helen Kennedy Only two had lc ft our class Vera Bluhm and Dorothwv Connellv So far I have only given the namcs of those who took part in the four years strug gle I will now tell you what we drd during, those years Freshmen are not supposed to bc of any xalue to the school only as playthrngs for others Our rnrtratron came frrst and to tcll the truth some of us drd not know th difference between Initiation and Doom s Day We endured rt the best we could and got our first experience of having elcctrrcrty run tlsrough us or in other words sat 1n an electric chair done more than merelr entering In Declamatron Glenn Srgler won one of the banners which adorn the wall of the Assembly Hall We are verx proud of our record ln dra matics Some of us have been in plavs every ycar Some have exceptional ability and we know our plays have been as good a any produced by High School students Mem bers of our class have tfrken leading parts both rn plavs and operettas In outside aCt1VltlCS X e as Seniors hare excelled In baseball and track we have had representatives all fotr years But in basketball the class of 24 has been well represented Alma Rensn on, Vera Bluhm lxrta Johnson, Fthel Rensmon, and Rossre Rrdle have made the first team and some have been first team players for three years This year four of the girls of the class of 24 were on the team that won the champion shrp for the S H S Our boys hare done equallv Well and those who have been most prominent are Flovd Stoxer Vhlbert Martrn and Doral Prllrng However others have been on the second team Orville Putnam Glenn Srgler and Joe Kennedy have been favorite players here and elsewhere This wcar both boys and girls teams won the rnterclass championships Speaking of Sneak Days I belrexe we have had more fun and nrore fights than any otherclass Last rear ercrv time we attempted to take one school was dismissed but we finally succeeded rn taking a real Sneak Dav As we left Mr Kcrsbergen called out after us that our time had to be made up Fx en if rt drd mean ninth period after school we drd not regret our Sneak Dav During our Sophomore year we took a Sncak Day md Professor Martrn told us never to take another as the school was too dead when we were gone We have always been good little children but we drd have a fcw criminals rn our class oh I mean library criminals Silence in the lrbr ary ncvcr made any differ ence to us but Just the same the teachers must admit that our class had lots of pep We have been guided through our High School career by Mr Woolard Mr Morin and Mr Nlorxell Our school days are cone but not for Lott n May you nexer forget us the Class of 24 '11 J KEN 3 Q ' 1 1 . 1' ' .' 7 ' ' , , : , ' u l H - ' I 7 . l ' .
