Class History Twelve short years ago M155 Letha Cadwell welcomed twenty four shmlng faces to start them on the Journey for a dtploma Mrs Elxzabeth Woods Kropf led us through our second year wtth a spec1al study of Ind1ans Then to gutde us durmg our thlrd year M1ss Mary Black brought to our attent1on the art of wr1t1ng and extended our study of pa1nt1ng and drawtng Our fourth year saw Mrs Agnes Hardy lead1ng us over many ups and downs At the head of our caravan for the ftfth year was M155 Berntce Maupln ln our last year 1n the elementary bu1ld1ng M1ss Allce Wood prepared us for our comlng jun1or h1gh and h1gh school days Our Junlor h1gh years brought many new exper1ences for we had advanced to the h1gh school bu1ld1ng and were learn1ng h1gh school ways The h1ghl1ght5 of these two years were the Jun1or h1gh basketball tournaments and our class dances Now as our h1gh school days were startmg we approached the cl1max of our journey Bestdes our class sponsors M1ss Stevenson and Mr Shores we elected for our class off1cers Tom Crawford presldent C 1rlStuder v1c presldent Pat Lorentz secretary Rtcky Clapper treasurer Norma Mull reporter Our h1gh school days were off1c1ally under way when the Sophomores welcomed us to the annual Freshman Sophomore dance Our class was represented 1n school act1v1t1es by Kathleen Carlson who rece1ved a muslc award As s1lly Sophomores we chose Read Coffman as our prestdent Tom Crawford v1ce prestdent Betty Stalcup secretary Carl Studer treasurer Kathleen Carlson reporter We acted as a perfect host to the new Freshmen at the trad1t1onal Freshman Sophomore dance MISS Cruser and Mr M1nor our class sponsors lent the1r asststance In the school 3Ct1V1t19S we were represented by Ke1th Carlson and Tom Crawford who lettered 1n football In basketball Mary Ellen Wood Norma Revercomb and Kathleen Carlson rece1ved letter awards In boys basketball and tn track Tom Crawford rece1ved the letter award Kathleen Carlson Charles Crawford and Glenon R1dgway rece1ved the mus1c letter awards Ke1th Carlson was chosen by the student body for the Good C1t1zen shtp award to represent our class on a tour to Jefferson C1ty Our journey was commg closer to an end as we started our Jun1or year As jolly .lun1ors we were led by Ke1th Carlson pres1dent Tom Crawford v1ce pres1dent Betty Stalcup secretary Dtck N1chols treasurer Our actresses and actors presented to the publ1c Mamma s Angel Ch1ld for the annual Junlor play Thts year s football team saw s1x members of our class Ke1th Carlson R1cky Clapper Tom Crawford B111 Greenmg Carl Studer and lVlerr1tt Trantor as letter award wxnners The g1rls rece1v1ng basketball awards were Norma Revercomb Betty Stalcup and Mary Ellen Wood Boys rece1v1ng basketball awards were Tom Crawford DICK N1chols and 1Vlerr1tt Trantor Trackletters were awarded to Tom Crawford Dean F1tzpatr1ck and lvlarton DeMoss Those earnxng the mus1c letters th1s year were Mar1lyn Slocunm Norma Revercomb Norma Nlull Kathleen Carlson Charles Crawford and Glenon Rldgway Our future farmers rece1v1ng awards were Cloyce Bildw rn Read Coffman Wrllard Reynolds and Ralph Spurgeon Two members of our class Mar1lyn Slocurn and Betty Stalcup were honored 1n the Nat1onal Honor Soc lety 1n1t1at1on The b1gU6St moment of our journey th1s year was entertammg the Senlors at the Mardr Gras Jurnor Sentor Banquet Mrs Whtte and Nlr Fllnt our class sponsors offered the1r servtces and ass1stance Our prestdent Ke1th Clrlson was the escort to the May Queen at the May Day exerc1ses Ke1th 1n accept1ng the trad1t1onal Sen lor Spoon from the Senlor class presxdent started us on our way oyer the last m1le of our journey As thtrty ntne soph1st1cated Sentors we started our last m1le early 1n the fall of 1951 Our class offtcers were Dean F1tzpatr1ck pres1dent Howard Brengle v1ce presmdent Merrxtt Trantor secretary Marlon Delkloss treasurer In early class meetmgs we de cxded to sol1c1t help fronu other classes 1n the mak1ng of a yearbook under the drrectxon of Mr Sharpe We recen ed our class r1nOs as an early Chr1stmas present Next m lme came our tradxtlonal M1stletoe Dance Our football team was conference champton thxs year Ke1th Carlson and lNlerr1tt Trantor co captatns R1cky Clapper Tom Crawford . . . .
