CLASS WILL We, the Class of 1954, of Sheffield High School, being of sound body, memory and mind, do make, publish and declare this our last will and testament, in the manner following, that is to say: First: We leave all our fond memories of the six years spent in S.H.S. We hereby leave our enthusiasm, and ability to get things accomplished, to the junior Class. Also to them we leave our most cherished possession, namely, Room 11 which we have claimed as our homeroom for two years. Take good care of it, and keep Mr. Brown happy. C ASS HI TORY The Class of 1954 entered Sheffield High in September 1949 After looking around and getting acquainted we elected the following officers to czrrw us through our first wear in umor High President, Bud Coldthwatte Nice President Robert Bell Secretary, oyce N1cNl1llen Treasurer lxenneth Camp Our cliss advisor was Nlr lang ln our eighth grade wear we chose the following officers President David Flmquist Nice President, Gerald Carr Secretary Xernon Stoddard Ireasurer, ames Nmcent Our class advisor was Nlr Chamberlain lhat vear Dave Gustafson and jerrie Cashmere were selected by the class to receive the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary honors When we entered our freshman year our class officers were as follows President, ames lledman Vice President, joyce Nlc'Nl1llen Secretary, Nancy ones Treasurer, Rita Kasaback That year we started widening our interests in the school Some went out for choir, band, and even basketball and football from the unxors and Seniors Ihe class officers that led us through the year were Presi dent, ames Hedman Nice President, Carmen Cummings Secretary Bud Goldthwaite Treasurer, William Troutman That year we sold magazines to start funds for our umor Senior Prom Donna Pierce, Rita lxasaback, and Dave Gustafson sold the most magazine subscriptions and received prizes As we started off our junior year we elected our class officers as follows President, Donna Pierce Vice President, Bud Goldthwaite Secretary james Hedman Treasurer, Rita Kasaback Our class advisor was Nltss Rrchwalsky One of our fellow classmates, Dave Gustafson, was captam of our basketball team We worked very hard to make our umor Semor Prom successful by selling basketball pencils and football programs We also sponsored the annual Halloween Party At last we became Seniors We elected our class officers as follows President, Carmen Cummings Nice President, jerrte Cashmere Secretary, Donna Pierce Treasurer, Bud Goldthwalte Our class advisor was Nir Brown Our athletic honors included Jerry Carr, basketball captain, and Dave Elmquist, football captain Also, Dave Gustafson was chosen to a guard position on the Alleghany Mountain Football Conference All Star team One of the mam things we did our Semor year was to get the Youth Center back on its feet I'o do this we elected the following officers President, james Hedman Vice Presr dent, Dave Gustafson Secretary, B111 Troutman Treasurer, Bud Goldthwaite The Youth Center attempted something of a different nature this year With the help of the Lions Club, an informal Snowflake Dance was held during the Christmas vacation Now, as our school days have come to a close, we, the Class of 54 want you to re member that whatever you do, wherever you go, never be ashamed of where you went to school Remember that there are a lot of students rust like you that are less fortunate, so be proud of that school you go to 20 U V V 4 9 1 'I i A .V 1 .V X i J ' ' 1 ' S ' 1 1 - ' , 2 7 ' J J ' , .
