Thanks also to Miss Clara Spade and George Rice for their patience and knowledge in helping us print our Hi-Times. We sincerely hope the students of future years will continue to publish our school paper and will add many improvements to it and really make it tops. 39 DR MATICS ,s The Little Dog Laughed, a comedy in three acts, was presented to the public on November 25 1952 The cast was under the supervision of Mrs. Eisenhauer. Many of our weekly assemblies were sponsored by the various rooms show- ing off their Vera Ellen, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, or what have you. And take it from me, there's talent that wanders through these halls of S.H.S., as was proved during these various assemblies. Also, we were entertained by professionals from the Antrim Bureau. Our first such as- sembly was September 18, when the Blue Jay Singers rocked the auditorium with applause and encores from the students. They were an exceptional negro team who really went over big with the students. The Green Pennant was presented to Mr. Eisenhauer by a state patrolman for having an accident free period of three months. Movies were later shown on safe driving and plain common sense to be used while walking or driving a vehicle. On November 21 we were again amused by a professional. Young and Compmy. Mr. Young was quite a magician and worked many of his sly tricks and stunts on students. Clancy Gus dummyl also added to the enjoyment by carrying on a little conversation with the audience During the month of january we were fortunate to have one of our Sheffielders Mr Otto Mayer, speak to us about his recent trip to Mexico City and other regions in that vicinity His time was well spent for when he left I m sure everyone of us left the auditorium know ing a little more about our far away neighbors in the southwest Then too our own Mixed Choir gave a sample concert for us one bright and early morn ing Oh, but it s hard to open your mouth without a yawn escaping so soon after rising! February I6 was really the Ladies Day for we were then entertained by Mr Amen ca. Man, what a physique!! He demonstrated body and health control through clean living and exercise Boys, see what you can look like nowl' Then, of course, the cheerleaders too had a lot to do with the assemblies for before most of the games they tried to rnyect pep into the student body for the oncoming tangle Ye can t forget to mention our High School Band either for they brighten up our spirits every morning with some fast march or Hail Hail The Gang s All Here' And so we thus conclude our brief resume of the past year hoping that a few of these events will remain in your thoughts and bring you back once again to the halls of S H S rn your fondest memories K X ff 41 ,-4, A. my-r . .' 17?-5 7 . 3, ? . ,, - 14' ,VA -R .
