The first few days the boys walked around town stiff in the legs, arms, and other muscles. lt was a tough grind. One thing that could be seen on the grid- iron was cooperation, harmony and spirit. After practice, Captain Young led everyone up and down cemetery hill a few times. Later, it could be noticed that this was conditioning the team to a great degree. Everyone had more driving power than before. It also helped the team get into condition faster. After running the hill two to three times a day for a week, the boys found it much easier. This proved that the muscles were being developed. As the days went by, the team seemed to be more tense, because the first game was close at hand. Of course, everyone knew why. The Youngsville Eagles, our chief rivals, had not beaten the Wolverines since 1045. Then, after the first game, the players got the idea of how to play football. If you remember, they found out at Youngsville how it was to be behind and how it was to win. The game seemed to have given the players the will to win under any circumstances. An dher great game was that with the Kane Wolves. The Wolverines held a supposedly superior team scoreless and forged ahead to two touchdowns. The team went through the season in fine colors and they would like to congratulate and thank the coach for what he accomplished this year and the way he stood with them. The seniors sincerely hope the Wol- verines will have another good season next year.
