teacher. This year, we, the students of Sheffield High School, take great pride and honor in dedi- cating our yearbook, the Lance, to a most distinguished member of our faculty, Mrs, Lucy B. Wilkins. Mrs. Wilkins graduated cum laude from Memphis State University. She was on the Dean's List. Also, as a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, she served as Rush Chairman and Pledge Trainer. Mrs. Wilkins was a member of Tassel, an honor society for senior women. She had majors in speech, journalism, and education. Not only did she excel in her educa- tion, but she is also exceptional in other areas, too. This year she was elected secretary of the West Tennessee Latin Teachers' Association for the 1969-1970 season. Mrs. Wilkins teaches Latin I and Latin ll, English, and Speech I and II. Her most frequent advice given to students is this: Utilize your time and get a good education. She puts forth her time and talents for the advancement and bettering of the students themselves. Our first year at Sheffield was a year to remember. It was full of new experiences. It was a time of learning. We had moments of laughter and tears, joy and sadness. Without you, Mrs. Wilkins, those cherished memories of that first year at Sheffield would not have been recorded for us to look back on in years to come. If you had not devoted yourself to this task and succeeded, we wouldn't have had all this.
