an ' In looking back over our high school career, we have many people and events that bring back happy memories. In 1951, fifteen Freshmen prepared themselves for their first initiation. They were: Helen Marie Cathelyn, Russell Chasteen, Ruth Anne De Freezer, Marlene Driessens, Rose Mary Gentry, Roland Fisher, Bobby Ted Johnson, Camille McCune, Larry Nutter, Martha Nutter, KennyRiggs, Lois Sipes, Wayne Smith, Marilyn Stonewall, and Charles Young. We elected class officers: President--Charles Young, Vice- President--Marlene Driessens, Secretary--Helen Cathelyn, Treasurer--Rose Mary Gentry, Sergeant-at- Arms--Camille McCune. We designed a 55 class bannerland selected orange and blue as our class colors. The firstdancewe gave was the, Homecoming Dance and the theme was Shine on Harvest Moon . For our class parties, we went roller skating twice under the super-vision of Mr. Host, our class sponsor. Our Sophomore class officers -were: President--Bobby Ted Johnson, Vice-President--Marlene Dries- sens, Secretary--Lois Sipes, Treasurer--Wayne Smith, Sergeant-at-Arms--Larry Nutter. On December 23., we gave the Christmas Dance with Julian Heene's Orchestra. Rose Mary Gentry and Camille McCune were chosen Jr. Varsity cheerleaders. Our class parties were spent roller skating and attending the movie, Miracle of Fatima, with our class sponsor, Mrs. Johnson. Roland Fisher decided to leave us after the first semester of this year. Our Junior class officers were: President- -Ruth Ann De Freezer, Vice-President--Marlene Driessens, Secretary--Sharon Thomas, Treasurer--Helen Cathelyn. Our sponsors were Mrs. Bealer and Mr. White. Rose Mary Gentry and Camille McCune were chosen Sr. Varsity cheerleaders. We gave the Christmas Dance with Julian Heene's Orchestra. We ordered our class rings and gave the Junior-Senior Prom with the theme, 'Moonlight and Roses . Our class parties were a movie, Return to Paradise , and a party in the school gymnasium. Our first class play was given. It was Wish on the Moon . We lost Martha Nut- ter and Marilyn Stonewall this first semester. Sharon Thomas and Larry Nutter did not return for their final year, so eleven students entered their Senior year and elected the following officers: President--Helen Cathelyn, Vice-President --Wayne Smith, Secretary--Marlene Driessens, Treasurer--Rose Mary Gentry. Our sponsors were again Mrs. Bealer and Mr. White. Camille McCune and Rose Mary Gentry were again chosen as Sr. Varsity cheerleaders. Our first-semester class party was a movie, The Barefoot Contessa, which was held at Princeton. We put on the Freshman Initiation program with the theme of Freshies are Funny . Immediately after the program we sponsored a dance with music by Julian Heene and his Orchestra. We gave the Senior class play called Kay Beats the Band . Russell Chasteen left us after the first semester. We all were kept busy planning for the publishing of the CARDINAL. We were also kept in suspense waiting for our class trip which is to be one day spent touring Washington D.C. and three days in New York City.
