Orchids to: Q Mr. Jack Childress, head of Sheffield High Com- mercial'Department, and the Cardinal Staff's Faculty Advisor, whose competent guidance has made possible the publication of the 1942 edition of the Cardinal. The entire Junior Class who willingly assumed the responsibility of assistant Editorship's. We hope that through their efforts this year they have gained experience which will uid them in the publi- cation of the 1943 Cardinal.

Bartholomew, whose challenging enthus- iasm and educational vision have guided us through our high school years, we, the' graduating class of nineteen hundred and forty-two, gratefully dedicate this book. Mr. Bartholomew came to Sheffield High in 1955 as Math- ametics instructor. During the 1958-59 school year, he was head of the Commerce Department, and the following year accepted the position of superintendent. On April 5, Miss Julia Lauritzen, and Mr. Bartholomew were wed in Davenport, Iowa. We are sorry to loso Miss Lauritzen as first grade teacher, but wish her unending happiness as Mrs, Bartholomew.
