I personally don't feel the community is aware of what is going on in our education- al system. A school is more than just a building, it is a group of people living and working to- gether. The most successful members of this group, both in school and out of school, will be those students who learn how to discipline them- selves, work co-operatively with other people, and use their abilities wisely. istration administration administration administration administration adm- JOHN BROWN, Superintendent LESTER VANDERPAN, Principle WAYNE HAVEY, Vice-Principle, Bio-Chemistry, Physics Sheboygan Falls School Board LEFT TO RIGHT, Joe Richardson Jr. Nancy Kuplic Edmond Evanoff Gerald Wierman Fred Miesfeld Willard Widder Raymond Born 12 important point is tJ Twe’ re flexible in this ' building, able to move into almost any type of program. ’We are hoping that this building will become more We $] ould be able to increase and more an important asset ouOfferings substantially on to the community at large as imester basis. This will provide a broader selection range for students. Sometimes you will pick up a lot of the pronunciation of a foreign language just by listening to someone speak it every day of the week. The use of visual aids such as filmstrips and movies help me give the student a variety of learning experiences. Almost 95% of our daily communications are those of a nonverbal nature. Much can be gained if we are aware of this in our everyday con- tact with other people. By starting with a false statement, you can prove anything true. This seems to be a case of the original decimal point mistake... no, I think that it is that old wrong side of the slide ruler mistake. All those little kids running around school belong to the junior home ec girls... as part of their child care unit. When students in these co- operative programs work in industry, they must be super- vised by their teachers at least part of the time. They receive the minimum wage, according to Federal and State law, as the rate is es- tablished by local industry. This year has truly been the greatest and certainly the most memorable year of my life. You people really made me feel as if I was accepted here not as the AFS student spending a year here but truly as a member of my family, the school and community. When I just heard I was coming to Falls I was a lit- tle disappointed at the thought of coming to such a small city, but I have since learnt that as long as you have friends, it does not mat- ter where you go or where you are, you will always be happy. Now I must send some personal thanks justly to Mike Larson and Moosejaw for be- ing so co-operative and pleasant in first hour Social Problems each day? To Tanny, Sue, Debbie and Mary for keeping me out of trouble throughout the year; to Bucholz for putting up such a good fight; to Tanny who risked my life in the VW so many times tra- veling to Plymouth; to Miss Ray who spells her words the same way I do; to the co-op- erative policeman at Road America; to a certain teacher who gave me a pass to the Art Room on the days I persuaded him with Australian Stamps; to Linda Eppers for teaching me the words to Joe Hill; to Bruce Mertzig for his A Christmas present; to Sara fpr providing me with enter- tainment in the chorus room, fourth hour each day; to John for dislocating my knee the day before volley ball tests in gym. When I return to M Australia I will take hom many wonderful memories of my stay here. I can pray that I will see of you again the future - perhaps stralia this time. We saw the Sheboygan Falls fal- con golfmen finish in the middle of the fairway. We found that contrary to our earlier beliefs, ruff was not the sound that snoopy makes, but the future of a misguided iron. Placing fifth in our conference and fourth in State Regional, the team which is made up of under- classmen shows promise in future years. However, the team will always have the memory of the 1970 three- putt green season. The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come, came, stayed for the 13th and 14th of November and left, leav- ing behind several hundred dollars and a lot of props which still aren't returned. We are anticipating the greatest prom ev- ver--something between Shakespeare and Woodstock--and the results are yet to be found through the preparations of the Class of 72! We no longer have to run in fear when upperclassmen approach. Now there is a class below us and we let them know it. We were forced to utter exhaustion while we faithfully manned the concession stands in the penetrating cold of the night. Terror reigned the streets as sophomore after sophomore obtained the mark of ma- turity known as a driver's license. New worlds were displayed to us and made us hunger for the sights and sounds that make of us more of a people. In the first foreign days of school, one is as- sualted with exotic sights and interesting sounds and the sense of smallness in the vast maze of halls. There is also the plaguing ever present fear of being put to the shame of hav- ing to do strenuous exercises such as push-ups under the watchful and laughing eyes of upper- classmen. Bet we set a new standard of physical fitness! How we ever managed no one will ever know. But we drowned out the shame with the triumph of winning first prize for our float. Homecom- ing was a great night as our first major exper- ience as freshmen. The past year has made us conscious of all that is yet to be learned.
